Note: Do not lean on the tops of your crutches; distribute weight through your hands.  Leaning on your crutches could cause numbness and tingling in your arms. 

For best results, have a healthcare professional fit the crutches. If self‑fitting:

1. Stand tall wearing your usual shoes (low heels with good support are ideal).
2. Place the crutches under your arms and relax your arms over the top pads.
3. Ensure 2–3 finger widths between your armpit and the top of the crutch.
4. With hands relaxed, the hand grips should sit at wrist level.
