The Luma needs only about a 38" by 47" patch of floor and no support wall, so it can go almost anywhere — beside the stairs, in a corner, or out in the open. A quiet winding drum drive keeps its ropes hidden inside the rails, and the sloped non-skid entrance and full-depth handrail make it a natural fit for rollators and walkers.

Designed with details in mind

Developed specifically for aging in place: a fully enclosed clear-acrylic cab, concealed cables and a finished interior give the Luma a look closer to furniture than equipment — with serious safety engineering underneath.

Flexible placement

The self-supporting rail system means no shaft and no support wall. Tuck it into a corner, set it beside the staircase, or place it in open space — the footprint is only about 38 by 47 inches.

No pit required and low overhead

A sloped entry removes the trip point and the need for a pit below, and the lift fits under a standard 82 3/4-inch lower-level ceiling — so site preparation stays simple.

Battery powered winding drum drive

The drive is quiet, the rope system rides hidden inside the rails, and the batteries charge from a regular household outlet — so the Luma keeps running through a power outage.

Safety features

Obstruction sensors halt travel in either direction, an overspeed arrestor guards the descent, and the cab meets the applicable safety code standards in every market where it is sold.

Additional entrance

Need straight-through access? Order the Luma with a second door — handy for rolling in and out with a rollator or mobility aid.

Installs in 1–2 days

Installation by our local crew typically takes a single day once the site is ready. Your contractor prepares the floor cut-out with bracing and a power outlet beforehand, and the included ceiling/floor liner trims the opening cleanly.
