The Handicare Freecurve is the curved stairlift we suggest when the look of the staircase matters as much as the ride. A single tube rail, custom-bent from photo measurements of the home, hugs the stairs with far less visual bulk than a conventional double rail — a real advantage on narrow, spiral, or steep runs up to 61 degrees.

Seat choices are the broadest in the curved line: Classic, Elegance, and Alliance styles, a Petite seat for smaller riders, and the Active seat, which rises gently beneath the rider to assist the move from sitting to standing and eases them back down again — a meaningful help for anyone with knee or hip limitations.

Power options address tight staircases specifically. A two-way powered pivot swivel turns the seat on narrow or spiral stairs, an 80-degree power swivel positions the rider for a safe exit at the top, and a powered folding footrest with LED lighting and a powered bottom hinge keep the lower landing clear. The lift can park around a corner at 90 or 180 degrees.

The Freecurve is battery powered with charge points at both ends of the rail, runs during power outages, and is designed for indoor residential use. We measure on site and have each rail fabricated to the staircase before installation.

2-Way Pivot Swivel

On very narrow or spiral staircases, the seat pivots automatically as it travels u2014 keeping room for your knees the whole way.

Power Swivel

Turns the seat 80 degrees automatically at the top landing for a safer transfer on and off.

Power Footrest

Folds up at the touch of a button, with LED lighting to improve visibility.

Power Hinge

Keeps the bottom rail section out of the way when a door or entranceway is nearby.

Active Seat

Gently raises you toward standing and lowers you to sitting u2014 available on Elegance and Alliance chairs (not offered in Quebec).

Parking

90- or 180-degree parking carries the chair around the stair railing for a roomier, safer on/off area.

Overrun

A top or bottom overrun lets the lift travel farther from the landing for a more convenient boarding spot.

Key

Keyed operation controls who uses the lift u2014 or order it keyless.

5 Point Harness

Added security on the chair in place of the retractable seat belt.

The Freecurve offers a choice of three seat designs, plus a Petite seat for smaller riders.
