The K2 is the straightforward answer for most straight staircases. It suits anyone who wants dependable daily travel between floors without giving up stair space for the rest of the household, since the seat, arms, and footrest all fold to a profile of roughly 11 inches from the wall.
A rack and pinion drive carries the chair at 15 ft per minute on inclines from 30 to 55 degrees, over runs up to 32 ft. The lift runs on 24 VDC battery power that recharges from a regular household outlet at the top and bottom landings, so it keeps working through several trips during a power failure.
Two seat styles are offered: the traditional L seat and the open-back V seat, both in wipe-clean vinyl with a retractable seat belt, swivel lock, and obstruction sensors on the footrest and carriage. A powered seat swivel and powered footrest can be added for riders who find bending or twisting difficult, and a flip-up rail option clears doorways at the bottom landing.
An outdoor package with a stainless-steel gear rack, zinc-coated hardware, UV-rated seat, and weather cover extends the K2 to exterior steps. Because the rail is cut and fitted to your staircase, we confirm measurements and options during an in-home assessment before your lift is ordered and installed.
Additional Options
Power Swivel
The seat turns automatically toward the top landing for a safe exit u2014 no reaching for the manual swivel handle.
Power Footrest
Folds the footrest up and down for you, so there is no bending required at either landing.
Outdoor Package
Stainless-steel gear rack, zinc-coated hardware, UV-rated seat and a weather cover for exterior steps.
Flip-Up Rail
A hinged rail section folds out of the way to keep a doorway at the bottom of the stairs clear.
Rail Extensions
Extension brackets adapt the rail to longer runs and unusual landings.
K2 Seat Options
The K2 offers two chair styles, both in beige wipe-clean vinyl.
- L seat: traditional shape (arms width 17.24"–20.39") with the toggle switch at the end of the armrest
- V seat: open back for extra seat room (arms width 16.85"–19.2") with a large toggle on top of the armrest
